Job Description

Mitchell is seeking a talented and passionate Creative Services Director to own our creative strategy and brand visualization. This role will lead a team of creatives to create high-impact experiences across multiple mediums to effectively, and creatively, communicate Mitchell’s brand, messages and solutions. You should be a master storyteller and brand strategist that understands how to develop the voice of the brand and support the mission of a company. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to bring our brand vision to life through compelling, jump-off-the-page designs as well as a deep understanding of our business and company messaging.

 

The Creative Director will manage the development, design, implementation and maintenance of the creative direction for marketing assets across web, digital media, social media, outbound communications, photography, video and advertising. This position will oversee the creative development and application of brand and design strategy and standards by establishing oversight and approval processes and continually evaluating and evolving as necessary brand standard guidelines. You will work with in-house designers, developers, video producer, content creators and cross-functional teams, along with external agencies and vendors to successfully meet diverse project timelines and budget constraints. You will lead daily team meetings to ensure brand alignment and direction, and will be the “go-to” point of contact for creative art direction. In conjunction with the Operations Project Manager, you will be responsible for workload scoping, forecasting, capacity planning, and workload distribution, as well as sourcing temporary staff and outside agencies, and will ensure creative team is structured and staffed appropriately as we grow and expand our capabilities Your role will be responsible for project management and budget planning as well as overall creative strategy to align with corporate objectives, as well as interaction with executive leadership as necessary. You will collaborate with cross functional project teams across the company to plan, analyze, organize and execute on key initiatives.

 

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be highly experienced in creating beautiful, professional, top quality designs and marketing campaigns, experienced in effectively managing and developing a team of creatives, have proven experience managing incoming project requests, forecasting and handling resource planning, experienced in budgeting, financial reporting, and trend analysis, and ultimately overseeing each project to success from concept to completion. This role will elevate our brand and campaign-development capabilities while working with teams to conceptualize creative solutions. Ultimately, you’re an incredible storyteller with an ability to make complex topics simple, engaging, and fun. The ideal candidate should possess:

 

  • Strong understanding of design and marketing best practices, industry trends and new methodologies.
  • High awareness of digital trends as well as innovative traditional media
  • Highly conceptual thinking in both visual and interaction design
  • Ability to foster and champion ideas that are breakthrough and drive results for our clients and elevate our creative ideation and delivery process
  • Ability to manage workflows, including creative briefs, team presentations and constructive design critiques.
  • Mastery of layout and composition techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Excellent image correction and manipulation skills.
  • Expert understanding of color theory and color relationships.
  • Exceptional understanding of typography, perspective, and spatial relationships.
  • Ability to manage conflict management internally and with customers.
  • Ability to command respect of designers and freelancers while offering mentoring and development opportunities to the team
  • Ability to manage and multitask a variety of different projects in a demanding environment.

 

Requirements

 

  • Expert or advanced skills in the following software applications is required: Creative Cloud including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects*, Adobe Premiere*, Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with CSS, HTML and web typography (Typekit etc.) and experience designing for mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • 10+ years of creative design experience that encompasses digital, interactive, marketing and brand design.
  • 5+ years managing and inspiring world-class creative teams.
  • B.A. or higher in fine arts, graphic design, interactive design, or other design-related program
  • Experience with design for B2B, high tech, IT or SaaS solutions a huge plus.
  • Phenomenal communicator.
  • Strong understanding of best practices related to email designs, responsive UX, and key social platforms
  • Sophisticated sense of design with an especially strong eye for layout design and typography
  • Portfolio that demonstrates previous visual and interaction design work
  • Background in branding and digital marketing
  • Positive manager and team player with clear communication skills
