Job Description

At Mitchell, Software Architects aren’t only technical subject matter experts; they are also business minded leaders, technical evangelists, cross-functional partners, and craftsmen. They are passionate about technology and get excited about solving some of our most complex technical challenges. They drive technical evolution of product design, platform solutions, and are the balance between the urgency of product delivery and creating stable, flexible designs that align with broader business objectives.


As an Architect you will be responsible for working in an agile environment, and help create the technical road map out to 3-5 years. Additionally, you will be partnering with one of our business units to help drive improvements, provide technical consultation, and strategize on new design. You will participate on technical councils to help develop operational strategy for new initiatives, and may also participate in on boarding/integrating of new acquisitions into the Mitchell environment. There can also be interaction with high level clients in the development of new product features or implementation needs. 


So what are we looking for?

  • Hands-on architect who is passionate about technology and solving important design challenges. This means you should be technology agnostic, know how to code, and be willing to consider technologies and solutions that are relevant to the business and its goals.
  • A solid understanding and experience of architecture patterns including ESB, SOA, database, integration, and cloud architecture.
  • A self-driven, highly motivated technologist who can work with a high degree of autonomy and is able to prioritize effectively.
  • A business minded person who can work collaboratively and has proven experience in creating influence across product teams, delivery and IS to drive technical efforts.
  • Someone who is articulate and can effectively communicate with technical teams, non-technical business leaders, and clients.


Here is the business experience we have interest in:

  • Hands-on experience developing Proofs-of-concepts, prototypes, and business cases.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and drive influence with multi-discipline, multi-business unit teams through data-driven decision making.
  • A strong understanding of Agile/scum development process.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field (MS  or PhD preferred).

Technology experience we would have interest in is:

  • Service Oriented Architecture design.
  • Solid experience developing software architecture for enterprise level, SaaS based solutions.
  • Distributed systems and architecture experience with multi-tiered mission-critical systems.
  • C#/.Net or Java
  • SQL Server, SSIS
  • RESTful API design
  • AngularJS
