Job Description

  • Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware.
  • Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
  • Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
  • Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
  • Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
  • May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
  • May conduct training programs designed to educate an organizations computer users about basic and specialized applications.

Note: May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.


Seasoned professional working in a corporate environment supporting the Desktop environment

Must have proven experience maintaining desktop compliance:

  • Minimum Associates Degree or 3+ years of relative experience
  • Anti-virus definition files and mitigation of non-compliance
  • Operating system patching, maintaining a documented procedure and mitigating non-compliance within a quick turnaround
  • Must have experience managing work within a ticketing system and maintaining accurate detailed notes
  • Experience with GPOs and patching applications
  • Strong analytical understanding to identify areas for improvement, presenting ideas, gaining approval and deploying in a structured approach
  • Will act as the escalation point for the helpdesk personnel
  • Knowledge of guest operating systems such as Windows 7/10
  • Knowledge of patching in a virtualized environment


Technical skills

  • WSUS/SCCM patching experience required
  • VMware operational tasks
  • AD administration in a 2012 functional level environment required
    • Granting permissions
    • Creating security groups
    • Creating distribution lists
  • Imaging process using SCCM or any other industry standard application such as Altiris
