Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mitchell team and make a significant impact as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist.

 

As a key member of the strategic sourcing function, you will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop and execute the strategic plan for major spend categories. 

  • Establishing and maintaining spend visibility.
  • Formulation and execution of sourcing activities for material spend categories, while working closely with appropriate business managers, in order to provide year-on-year improvements in total cost, quality and service performance.
  • Maintaining relationships with key suppliers, monitoring vendor performance and developing supplier improvement targets and plans.
  • Tracking sourcing savings performance against annual targets and interfacing with Finance to link procurement impact with budget and forecasts.
  • Regularly conducting market analysis and peer-benchmarking, and staying informed on industry trends.
  • Establish long-term agreements, where appropriate.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum 3 years of relevant experience with sourcing, and managing suppliers, and
  • Category experience with any of the following:
    • IT software, hardware, & services
    • business process outsourcing (BPO)
    • Indirect spend
  • Proven record of working with cross –functional teams and stakeholders to meet business needs, including improvement of total cost, quality, and service levels, related to the supply base.
  • Strong communication, consensus-building and negotiations skills.
  • Experience with structured sourcing processes and approaches
  • Superior analytical skills and structured problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to multi-task projects and assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment; program management skills and ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a vision, as well as an ability to work within larger organizational objectives.
  • Leadership/ Influencing capabilities a plus.
  • Basic working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools desired, but not required.

Bachelor degree in business, procurement, or supply chain or equivalent experience
