Job Description

Field case management of injured workers. Position requires direct contact with key stakeholders including patient, family members, employer, MD, hospital workers, adjuster, attorney, utilization review, telephonic case managers, etc. to progress case to a cost effective resolution.  Requires approximately 75% time in the field (driving, attending MD appts, hospital visits, etc.), 25% time working from home writing reports and coordinating medical care. Requires appropriate space for home office with high speed internet connection

  • Ability to meet with injured worker and physicians to assess the medical, behavioral, vocational, and social areas impacted by the injury or illness. 
  • Visit hospitals and work with staff to coordinate discharge plans
  • Work closely with the patient and medical providers to achieve timely treatment planning, implementation, and follow through
  • Establish communication with key stakeholders to develop cost effective solutions to achieve maximum medical recovery (MMI) and return to work (RTW)
  • Coordinate and implement medical treatment plan
  • Provide thorough and complete reports to claims adjusters in writing and verbally on a consistent, professional and timely basis
  • Active Registered Nurse, RN License (BSN preferred)
  • Prior Workers’ Compensation case management experience and/or experience in hospital case management, Occupational Health, utilization review or home health
  • Certified Case Manager designation, CCM a plus
  • Unrestricted Drivers License and auto insurance required
  • Ability to function independently and with flexibility
  • Strong communication, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Catastrophic case management experience a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Comfortable working within internet based, proprietary software
  • Ability to capture billable hours and cost savings
  • Ability to develop measurable and effective plan of action for each case and update continually

Active RN License
