Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our product marketing department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. In this role, you will develop and implement marketing strategies and have the opportunity to contribute in strategic marketing planning meetings for product launches and campaigns. As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our product marketing, corporate marketing and creative design teams to develop sales presentations, collateral and assist with maintaining our marketing channels.


Example of Previous Projects (your project(s) will be similar to those described below)

  • Understand key problems faced by the Workers’ Compensation industry and identify the best Mitchell solution through an exercise of research, industry news, internal interviews and product learnings.
  • Execute an email marketing campaign using Eloqua that targets customers and prospects in the auto casualty industry. Track and report metrics for the campaign and make recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness of the campaign.
  • Create acomparison of a key competitor through industry and competitor research, SWOT analysis and internal documentation that can be used to inform sales.
  • Create a product flyer for a new Mitchell offering.
  • Analyze the effectiveness and make recommendations for the Mitchell website through an analysis of SEO, top landing and exit pages, how individuals entered the site, etc.
  • Collaborate with product management teams to strategize marketing material for new enhancements.
  • Write and edit thought leadership content alongside other members of the product marketing team.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns – reporting metrics
  • Market analysis on competitors
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in marketing and promotional activities (social media, content management etc.)
  • Prepare promotional and customer presentations
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Help organize marketing events (includes purchasing and shipping conference materials)
  • Contribute to newsletters, blogs and content creation for web


  • Current undergraduate student enrolled in a Marketing, Communications or related field graduating in December 2018 or June 2019
  • Strong desire to learn and with professional drive
  • Key qualitative attributes: solid blend between critical and creative thinking; outstanding communications; inspires and works well with others; goes the extra mile in getting things done right; at ease working across team boundaries
  • Ability to use analytical, logical, and organizational skills to make business decisions using ambiguous, and potentially complex, information
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Creative Suite and/or design skills a plus
