    The Salt Lake City location of Mitchell Pharmacy Solutions primarily provides Revenue Cycle Management solutions for prescriptions related to Worker’s Compensation or Automobile (PIP) claims for the largest pharmacy chains in the U.S. The Medical Billing group drives and supports the entire verification / collections process through working with carriers, employers, patients, prescribers and pharmacies on any billing / collections issues related to prescriptions. The Director is responsible for the management and strategic direction of the Medical Billing Group. The Director has P&L responsibilities for the credit portfolio of the revenue cycle management business. This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations.


    Core Responsibilities:

    • Manage and optimize operational processes and procedures - specifically, support better efficiency and increased collection results through streamlined business processes, real-time reporting, organizational planning, metric based performance management and documented procedures and management
    • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly credit portfolio health dashboards to identify opportunities for improvement and develop and implement plans necessary to meet performance expectations in a changing environment
    • Report to key stakeholders (inc. General Manager of Pharmacy Division) on the performance of the team vs. objectives, key trends & health of credit portfolio and quality of team’s work
    • Coordinate and lead calls with senior external and internal parties on any issues related to Medical Billing
    • Serve as the senior subject matter expert on all issues surrounding payor reimbursement, operational processes, industry developments and all other general revenue cycle management
    • Scope, design and coordinate with IT on the implementation of upgrades and maintenance improvements to our billing and claims systems
    • Set objectives and priorities for direct reports: establishing performance goals, providing focus and performance reviews, and supporting team and individual employee development with a goal of creating an optimal work environment
    • Set strategic vision and significant role in setting strategy geared towards operational excellence and quality
    • Help lead recruitment, retention, and development of Medical Billing staff



    • Strong and effective results-oriented team leader with a minimum of 10 years of senior professional billing management experience (or in a related field e.g. pharmacy or collections)
    • Excellent analytical skills, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Must be able to critically evaluate data and make recommendations for change based on extensive research and evidence
    • Successful history of adding value to organizations through proactive root cause analysis leading to optimal business performance
    • Exhibit flexibility and creatively in identifying and implementing process improvements and create a culture of continuous process improvement
    • Strategic and tactical; able to help scale operations for growth
    • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively within a matrixed environment, with multiple levels of operations team members, including senior level positions internally and externally
    • Must be self-directed, highly motivated, and organized, with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
