    Job Description

    Software Development Engineer is a key team member in ensuring that our integration and implementation of the SmartAdvisor bill review software suite aligns with the needs of our clients.

    In this position, you are designing and providing tools and solutions to accommodate custom business needs.  You’ll play a critical client-facing role in gathering requirements, defining workflows, designing business rules, and integrating external and internal systems. You’ll be consulted as technical expert and requested to advise team members on the technical feasibility of designs. 

     

    Responsibilities include writing MS SQL stored procedures, creating custom reports using MS SQL Server Reporting Services, and performing data migration/conversion using SSIS.  Software development experience is a must for success in this role, while Property & Casualty industry knowledge can be a beneficial factor for interpreting and addressing client needs within the context of our application suite.  

    This is a great opportunity for the experienced developer who is looking to supplement with client-facing experience.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years professional experience with the following technologies:
      • Microsoft technology stack (.NET) or Java
      • SOA principles and practices
      • XML, JSON and web services
      • SQL Server 2008/2012 / T-SQL
      • C# / .NET / ASP.NET
      • IIS
      • XML, XML Schema, XSL
    • High attention to detail.
    • Aptitude for technical analysis, software implementation, troubleshooting, creative problem solving, training, and/or product management.
    • Strong process and prioritization skills and the ability to work well in high degrees of ambiguity.
    • A passion for delivering high-quality customer solutions and creating great customer experiences.
    • Critical thinking that allows one to see beyond the immediate problem and forecast the downstream consequences of proposed solutions.
    • Robust collaboration skills and abilities to work diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders and build productive relationships.
    • An inspiring degree of self-motivation, initiative, and self-improvement.
    • An insatiable curiosity for learning.
    • Experience writing and/or participating in performing data mappings, writing technical specifications and creating test plans as necessary.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be able to clearly and confidently communicate with customers and demonstrate expertise in technology solutions.
    • Familiarity with ANSI X12 EDI.
