    Job Description

    We challenge you to join the Mitchell legal team as a Contracts Specialist. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative legal team, and requires at least 2 years of related experience. As a Contracts Specialist you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts, administering the contracting process, and maintaining contract records. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with internal business stakeholders, customers, and external vendors to continuously improve the quality and speed of our contracting processes. To be successful in this position, it is important that you are a detail-oriented, critical-thinking professional who is results driven and enjoys a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Contracts and is based in our headquarters in San Diego.

     

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Shepherd contracts through the contracting process efficiently and carefully;
    • Prepare and review contracts, substantially using templates and guidelines (including consulting services agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, etc.);
    • Gather additional required contract information and interface with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Maintain contract templates and standard clauses;
    • Work closely with business stakeholders and internal attorneys to negotiate and deliver contracts that are consistent with company policies and practices, and engage the appropriate support and escalation as needed;
    • Assist the Legal Team with ongoing efforts to simplify the contracting process using standardized contract language, templates and processes;
    • Take pride in delivering value to Mitchell and its customers, partners, and vendors.

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Position Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required
    • This is not an attorney position, however a Paralegal certificate or a Juris Doctorate degree (J.D.) may be useful to demonstrate relevant training
    • A minimum of 2 years of directly applicable experience in a Contracts Specialist/ Contracts Administration role.
    • Working knowledge of common commercial agreements and terms and conditions.
    • Ability to successfully accomplish work with a moderate degree of independence, balancing competing priorities with short lead times.
    • Experience in software, software-as-a-service or other intellectual property licensing preferred.
    • Outstanding attention to detail, communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
