Collecting and analyzing vehicle dimension data utilizing FARO 3D-metrology equipment to record as-built dimensions from passenger cars and trucks.
Lifting vehicles on a 2 post lift and measuring them as part of a two man team in a research facility.
Researching Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) information in preparation to measuring the vehicle. •
Working with CAD drawings and vehicle designs specifications.
Using digital photography to document measuring locations.
Processing measurements using three-dimensional mathematics including trigonometry and geometry.
Entering information into a Collision Repair Database that supports various publications, software and on-line applications.
Creating Database Design queries in MS Access and Oracle to extract data based on customer requirements.
Duties shall also include proofing completed dimension data; inspecting vehicles for data accuracy, responding to customer service related issues, as well as any Special Projects as assigned by Department Manager.
Employee shall perform job duties with minimal supervision at times.
Sufficient automotive knowledge to determine measuring locations relevant to collision repair and chassis re-alignment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with MS Office applications.
Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills.
AA or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD) or automotive technical field preferred.
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operator, FARO equipment, 3D CAD Design, AutoCAD software, PolyWorks software, MS Access and or Oracle, SQL Database experience with designing queries and manipulating database output.
