    Interaction Designers on our team are responsible for creating products to be easy, intuitive, and pleasant to use. Our team is seeking a talented Interactions Designer, who is a compulsive problem solver and who knows how to align business strategy with established user-centered design methodologies.  You must excel at envisioning an experience and be able to drive that vision into designs that exemplify simplicity, despite any necessary system complexity.  On a daily basis, you will:

    • Creatively solve problems at all levels of detail: from the big picture to the nuts and bolts.
    • Conduct user research including interviews and observations, analyze and compile research findings including journey maps and personas.
    • Lead concept exploration exercises and moderate design sprints.
    • Create flow diagrams and wireframes to communicate UI design concepts.
    • Build conceptual prototypes to explore interactive behaviors and front-end technological capabilities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional project stakeholders to establish design directions that meet market requirements while balancing user needs with technical capabilities.
    • Tell compelling stories about users and products to support your work.
    • Partner with Visual Designers to apply engaging visual styles to wireframes and conceptual prototypes.
    • Coordinate and execute usability evaluations with target users and distill findings into actionable results.
    • Drive the development and expansion of Magnetic Design, Mitchell’s design system.



    Our Requirements


    • 2+ years professional experience designing useful, usable, and meaningful user interfaces
    • BS/BA in Design, HCI, HF, Cog Sci, Comp Sci or related field, Masters is preferred
    • Proven effectiveness championing users’ needs and customers’ best interests within cross-functional teams
    • Knowledge of journey mapping and persona development
    • Demonstrated experience leading contextual inquiry observational research, and compiling findings
    • Demonstrated experience conducting usability evaluations including think-aloud and performance studies
    • Proficiency using rapid prototyping tools such as Axure and Sketch
    • Proven effectiveness collaborating professionally within cross-functional teams
    • Adeptness at both giving and receiving detailed design critiques
    • Capacity and drive to build strong rapport with internal and external clients
    • Experience conducting research and design within agile development processes a plus
    • Deep-seated passion for well-designed things
    • A lifelong love of collaboration and learning
    • A fearless and positive attitude

    • Show a deep appreciation for simple human interfaces. 
    • Reveal breadth of skillset and depth of workmanship.
    • Demonstrate mastery of fundamental Interaction Design philosophies and best practices.
    • Showcase research and analysis techniques
