    Job Description

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Receives inbound requests for authorization from client claims staff, third party claims staff and providers

    • Enters pertinent data into company software portal for review by clinical staff

    • Screens information received to ensure clarity and completeness
    • Assigns the information to the correct clinical reviewer per treatment type and scope of practice
    • Monitors UR process for adherence to time frames
    • Maintains current knowledge and skills relative to procedure changes, software or workflow updates, and regulation additions or modifications
    • Responds to phone and electronic communications from UR stakeholders
    • Ensures that all requests for authorization are entered into company software on a same day basis
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the UR Specialist Lead or Branch Manager - UM

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to perform assigned duties with time pressures
    • Ability to utilize personal computer and various software packages
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to work independently and maintain team goal oriented self-initiative

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Data entry or medical front office experience preferred
